Look at all the magical pins...All lined up and doing their magic!
Oooo..Look at the blanket...It seems to be coming together...Oh boy!
Look at it! Wowsers! It appears to be a blanket!
So there is the baby blanket. Unfortunately, it is not finished. I took out the BO row today and am putting in a few more rows- it was rolling up a little too much for me. Grr on my perfectionist ways.
Specs:
Needles - KnitPicks circs US size 3
Yarn - KnitPicks Essential, color Dusk - I used two balls and really needed 2.25, oh well! The yellow is a mysterious ball. I think it is cotton. Not sure.
Pattern - Adapted from Barbara Walker's First Treasury of Knitting Patterns- Tilted Trellis is the pattern (I so covet that book!) I had garter stitch border on the sides and on the two ends. I also added garter stitch rows after 3 repeats, just to break it up.
The recipient is not due is until August so I am not worried but I am leaving before then. So I want to make sure I have it done and completed. I believe I started it sometime in Jan. but I have taken many little vacations from it.
My ladies retreat was fantastic. Cannon Beach was beautiful, I got to go to my first LYS! I only have been to Joann's or Walmart for yarn and accessories. It was great. But I bought nothing-I was overwhelmed and I have no projects in mind. I was also shopping with my MIL and two SIL's- one knits and one doesn't. So I felt like I was holding them back occasionally. But the Hubby will take me there soon enough. I will not pout (big).
The retreat experience was good. I always get closer to God. We had a really good speaker this year. And I got to hang out and actually interact with my SIL who lives in Chehalis. I never see her, even when we go over there. Sometimes it is good not always see her though! I did not, however, get her to play Hand and Foot, as planned. But we enjoyed ourselves throughly. I managed to get 5 hours of sleep total- we were there Thurs, Fri, and Sat. morning. Yep, 5 hours total. I was on some type of high on Saturday.Well, the dishes are calling my name. Like always. I had planned on going to Goodwill tonight but that darn blanket just grabbed all of my attention and now I just don't feel like going out. Plus all the wind here makes it hard to want to go outside!
Ooo..one last pic- look at a gift Hubby and I got last weekend-
A labor of love from a lady in our church in Chehalis. How sweet! It is our wedding gift (we were married in 05). Better late than never!
Away to Cannon Beach I go! Yeah! My MIL church has a ladies retreat annually- I have gone for about 5 years now. I love it plus it is a great excuse to go to the beach. How great is that? And I get to eat yummy yummy food, delight in good company, and get closer in my relationship with God. All +++ in my book! Now I just need to pack. Always a dilemma- I never have clean clothes or a big enough suitcase! So I become the bag lady- one suitcase, one backpack, one bag, a purse, and maybe a grocery sack or two. I feel classy! I do have another suitcase but it is quite large, in fact, I think I can fit inside of it if I do the fetal position. I used that one for Maui. But that is my dresser right now. Kinda hard to break it down...So, I just have to figure out what knitting I what to bring and what snacks I need to bring. Also, my local SIL and I are going to hogtie the other SIL down and make her play card games and such with us-it looks like it will be raining days so we will be inside a lot during our free time.. We are so mean..Last night, we made cards for the retreat. I already made 7 so I made birthday cards. Unforunately, I did not take any pics- maybe I will remember this weekend! They are gorgeous. I felt so crafty! My next tackle is to make a bag- I really need a small knitting bag, I only have a huge bag. Well, off to the beach I go.. Hopefully we will have one day of sun!
Its a movie meme that I spotted at Nutmeg Kitter that she saw at Yarn Utopia- as seen at Ma Hatfield's blog: "It’s been alleged that if you’ve seen over 85 movies you have no life. Mark the ones you’ve seen. There are 239 films on this list.
Copy this list, go to your own blog, paste it in and put x’s by the ones that you have seen. Add them up, figure out whether you’ve got a life or not, and post it."

Hey, 95 out of 239?! That is only 39%... I am very picky about what I watch nowadays..Some of those were from back in the day...Some of them I wish I never saw (like Reign of Fire- yuck!)
I love watching movies while I knit. Right now, we get Showtime and some other movie channels for free. Typically, there is nothing good one but occasionally we get something decent. I like it because I don't have to find something new to watch every 30 minutes and no commericals! If no movies, I stick it on HGTV - that is always delightful!
Well, work is calling...Grr...
PS- It doesn't look like this anymore!! Yipee!

Last night was a night full of cleaning.
Lots and lots of cleaning.
First, I grabbed a rag and dusted. Dusted like no one's business. Dusted like my mother was coming over and going to inspect every square inch of the apartment.
Then, when the dusting fever exhausted, I moved on to sweeping. Always enjoyable. But the whole apartment needs to be swept as it is all tile floors. So I swept and swept and swept- pulling up a rug here and there, moving garbages and other misc. articles.
But what to do with all those piles from sweeping? They never get all the way into the dustpan. So, out comes the trusty vacuum. Tiny but effective. Back down the rugs came because they needed to be vacuumed too! No one likes to have clean floors but icky dirty rugs.
But I am not finished. Why just stop at vacuuming? I saw that bathroom was looking pretty shabby while cleaning the floors. So, out came my trusty pink gloves, a rag, and mmmm...lemon-scented lysol. I love that stuff! Scrubbed the sink, the toilet that needs it, and the shower was doused with lysol. Now it looks and smells better!
Hmm...I felt like more could be done...I know, that hideous amount of dishes in the sink, about to form up and hit me over the head if I did not clean them! So, on with the dazzling apron along with the pink gloves (cleaned after the toilet scrubbing, of course). Then I tackled the dishes. My goodness, there was a lot.
That was a good two hours last night. I celebrated a good job done with two mini bagels and tuna. Yum yum!
Now, why did I have the urge to clean like the queen was coming? Well, the evil JS lawyer at work was, well, evil. Does that sum it up for you? He yelled at me, made me cry, treated me like a retard, and was just plain ole mean. His full-time assistant just quit and so he had to depend on me-grrr...I am not a legal assistant nor do I have any desire to help with that. All I do is play with the files. Needless to say, I was very upset yesterday and cleaning helps. A lot.
Which also means I got not a whole lot of knitting done. But last weekend, I finally finished something....
this is where a picture would be.
if i remembered to take the picture...
before i sent the knitted item off to its recipient.
Whoops!
But anywho- I completed Branching Out! I bought yarn when I went back home a few weekends ago and mananged to produce something. Yeah for me! I am still plugging away at the baby blanket-we are having moments. I forget if I am supposed to SSK or K2tog...So yeah, I have had my fair share of ripping with this blanket so far. But I love the yarn- KnitPicks...something or another. I will remember to tell later. I am at work afterall!
Yay for pink gloves!
