Boo on Working!

How is it that I manage to never work when I am at work? Probably because I get paid barely anything...As long as the files get filed and there is coffee in the back, the attorneys are okeedokee, I guess. And I am not complaining. I can sit here and play on the internet and fiddle my thumbs for eight hours a day-what a life. Sometimes I wish I actually was busy but soon I will be moving and hopefully get another job in a medical office again. Hmmm..But for now- yay for the internet and its mind-sucking powers!

For Branching Out, I finished it and it is waaaay too short. I ran out of yarn. How much does that suck? A lot. It looks really good. Maybe it can be a table runner or used in a frame as a border. Or I will just pull it out. I don't know. But that does mean I get to buy more yarn! Yay for that!

For my afghan, I turned away from the pattern I was looking at recently. I am thinking of just making squares of different patterns. I found
some great books at my library and a pretty heart pattern that I will make into an afghan. Unfortunately, my library has crazy rules so I will have to buy the book most likely (unless I can make the afghan in two months) I was planning on making it slowly- having it done by November. That is when my MIL birthday is. That way I have time for other projects and not feel rushed to finish the afghan. Oh well.

Not much else to report. I went to Goodwill the other day, and ending up only spending $5. Crazy for me. I try on 7 or 10 things and end up liking none of them. But I did find one set of knitting needles and a pretty fleece vest with stars on it! No pics because my camera is failing me again.

Well, I guess I should earn some of the $$ these crazy lawyers give me. Grr on lawyers!

Grr on Snow!

I have mastered Branching Out! Woohoo! No new pictures as I am only halfway through but yea!!! I am liking lacy stuff now too. I don't want to speak too soon but I like the challenge. Next up on the needles, I have an afghan. I bought many skiens of Patons Merino Wool (told you I like that stuff!) of many colors. It is going to be a very warm, very cozy, very heavy blanky when I am finished. But I am making it for a lady who is very cold in the evenings...

I really want to get into cables too but I don't know what to make. I like to make things for other people, not me. But I really don't know many people so it is kinda tough. I am looking for charities but have yet to find one that I really want. I am not into beanies/hats yet so making those for babies in hospitals is on the very very back burner. Hmmm...Plus, my hubby and I are on a very strict budget so I can't go spending lots of $$ on yarn :( What ever shall I do?

It snowed today and I felt like crying. I cannot wait for July and the warm warm days to be here. Of course, we will be moving in those warm warm days. Yea for Vancouver (WA) and Hubby's new job!!! (Okay, his first real big boy job- he graduates with his masters in June) Yeah for accounting firms who hire in the fall for the next year! Yea for quitting my job in July! Yea for yeas!

Okay, I think I am done here.

Here is a random photo of Maui from 2005- oh I wish I was back there. That is where Hubby and I got married!

Grrr..

So, Branching Out is kicking my butt right now. Somehow I am not getting the decreases right and it starting to really annoy me. I have started it over multiple times and grrr! On row 5, I have one extra stitch- I just changed k2tog to k3tog and hoped that would worked but when I got to row7, I have 2 or 3 extra stitches. Grrr!

On other news, I stayed home sick today because of a migraine. So what happened? Maintenance decided to come in and changed all the light bulbs in the apartment! How loud was that! Oy! I have slept for most of the day. Now my neck hurts because I have been on the couch instead of the bed like a normal person.

Back to bed- wish me luck on the Branching Out!

Knits!

I have forgotten to take pics of everything I had made so far- grrr... But here is the things I have made for myself. Yea for me!
Here is the scarves:

The green one is one of four that I made for myself and my sisters for Christmas. Two were red, the others were green. How quaint.

Here is my Knitty headscarf- yummy!

I used Patons Classic Merino Wool in Denim Marl- it is sooo deliciously soft. I am in love with this yarn- what should I make next with it? Hmmm...

I have been trying to make a scarf for my MIL since she saw my green one and thought it was so amazing. I decided on Branching Out from Knitty- I need more of a challenge but I wanted to start out small.

I went to Monday night Knitting tonight and one of the ladies graciously gave me some wool to knit the scarf with as the yarn I choose was crappy- it kept splitting and was icky. Yeah for her! I am going to miss the group when I move this summer.

tehehehhehe.....
