Yummy yarn!

My yarn came in! Mmmm.....All I did last night was fondle it. Is that bad or wrong in any way? This is my first purchase of yummy yarn- all I have had so far is icky yarn from Fred Meyer. I bought it from Little Knits- wonderful store. It took a little longer because they are based in Seattle and got hit by the wind storm. I just happen to place my order the day before that storm. Whoops. But they were so kind, they upgraded my order to priority!
Here's a pic of what I got-

Mmm...But I have no idea what I am going to make. I bought 4 skiens of each color....
I already have other yarn in mind that I want to buy- its from
Knitpicks..I just have to convince the husband. He told me to wait until after Christmas. But its so hard!!!!

On other news, it has been snow and ice here since Thanksgiving. I can't wait to move. I am so tired of almost falling on my booty. Especially when I have to go on errands for work. Grr on work!

I can't wait to go home and play with my yarn!!!

I was in Maui, soaking up sunshine and gaining one gorgeous husband...

Now I am here...Ugh!

What a difference a year a make. But I got a husband out of the deal so no complaining for me! Tonight we dine on spaghetti to celebrate, maybe even ice cream. Since it is a weeknight we continue the celebration to Friday night with a rented movie and yummy popcorn. Plus I kinda want to see Pirates 2 since I saw the first one. We are low-key people so thats all the celebrating we do. And I love it!

Only so many more days until Christmas. I am so excited! I enjoy this holiday- it is relaxing (except for when I go to my folks house) and I get to reflect on its true meaning. Good times. I love going to my hubby's house for the holidays, or anytime for the matter- his parents are so warm and welcoming. I love them to death. His mom was my boss for awhile. That's how good we get along!

On knitting news- the scarf is slowing making its way along. I am not liking the feel of the yarn but I want to get it done so I no longer have to yarn. Grr...Plus it feels up my evenings rather than sitting there and eating butter cookies (yum yum!)

Wish I was back on the beach right now....

Oh!

Yet another scarf is on my needles. I am getting bored with these squares that I am doing. I want a challenge. But I need some pretty yarn and lack of LYS have me hunting the internet for good deals. But I am married to a college student and I work in a job where I do not get paid nearly enough. So, I need a really good deal!

In Knitty's new issue, I found some things I am itching to make. My husband saw this and now is bugging to make it. I don't mind because he won't wear anything I would make him so that would work. Plus I found a fun thing to make me! I have so far only made me one thing- a scarf that matches scarves I made my sisters. That is it. I am a slow knitter for myself.

I am desperately trying to find a beanie pattern I like- I have a small head and no circular needles. A small feat when trying to find free pattern (remember, I am a cheapsake on a limited budget).

So, for now I am limited to scarves and disclothes. I did make myself an ice cream cozy this weekend for when I have Ben & Jerrys- Yum Yum!

Note- that is not my cozy- my camera is at home, I am work...I borrowed this image from the internet. :)

a little about myself

currently, I reside in the windy city of ellensburg. I just picked up the greatest hobby of knitting in October. Already I have made 5 scarves, 4 dishclothes, and currently have plans for much much more. Maybe I will dominate the world. Or just knit a cozy for it. :)

All of my knits have been gifts, minus one scarf. I have already complied somewhat of a stash of yarn too! But everytime I look at it, nothing appeals enough at me to make something for me. Sure, I can make it to give to others- especially my family since I never see them. But if I am going to make it for me, it needs to be extra special and soft and yummy! I have yet to find that as all the only store I have to shop in for yarn is Fred Meyer. Oh goody.

Besides knitting, I like many other crafts. Currently, I have started on a cross-stitch project that might take me until the end of time. Or next Christmas. Whatever comes first. I dominate a whole shelf (and more) in the hall closet of our apartment- it is devoted to crafts. There is a tub for paper, a briefcase full of stencils, paper cutter, and other fun stuff. There is another tub full of pen, markers, crayons, glue, etc- you name, I most likely have it. I probably could have my own shop by now. My yarn doesn't fit there- it owns a shelf on the bookcase in the bedroom.

I can't wait to move away from ellensburg. Then maybe in the new place I can actually set up my crafts and leave them out.

I will leave you with my last book purchase- The Big Book of Beautiful Beads. 512 pages of wonderful projects that I can't wait to get my hands on! Woohoo!
